Leaning into the imperfections that come with using traditional animation techniques gives FLATWORLD’s cartoons a distinct handmade feel. This, paired with the surreal nature of their work, has earned FLATWORLD a reputation for high-quality, experimental animation.
In 2020, cartoonist Solomon Triffitt adapted his university graduation piece into a pitch for an animated short. The film was greenlit as part of the BBC Arts’ New Creatives initiative, and in the following year FLATWORLD’s debut cartoon WASTEMEN was released. Since then, Solomon has continued to grow FLATWORLD producing work for a wide range of clients from independents to larger agencies including Medhane, Niko B, SBTRKT, PAYDAY Records, and Pulse Films.
In 2023 FLATWORLD launched DIY animation festival FLATWORLD AND FRIENDS showcasing the best independent artists and animators in the scene to a sold out crowd at the Matchstick Piehouse in Deptford.
FLATWORLD are currently in development on their next short film and are prepping for next year's FLATWORLD AND FRIENDS show.

FLATWORLD provides premium cel animation, digital 2D animation, and illustration services. We develop everything from concept art and character design, to storyboards, layouts and final animation. Our services are scalable to the scope of each project.
